"The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery." - Mark Van Doren

Who am I?

I was born and raised in southern Alberta and have attended schools in Vauxhall, Foremost and Lethbridge. On May 30, 2014, after numerous courses and wonderful practicum experiences, I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees.

I am passionate about learning and am constantly seeking to grow. I am currently teaching myself how to play guitar, to speak French and am working to develop my abilities as an artist. I love anything that allows me to be creative and I find joy in helping others to recognize and pursue their own passions. I strive to tailor my teaching to the interests and goals of my students.

The people in my life are incredibly important to me. I am very close with my family and treasure the relationships that I build with people. I pride myself on my ability to get along with others, a skill which I have developed through my relationships with my husband, family, friends and colleagues.

I have a wide range of interests, some of which include: literature, history, drama, art, pop culture, movies, camping, playing various sports, and cheering for the Calgary Flames. I am also an animal lover and a self-proclaimed "crazy cat lady", though I excercise self-control and only have two cats of my own!

I am thankful to be a teacher because it allows me to share my love of learning with my students. I look forward to all the joys, learning (mine and my students) and challenges to come in my teaching career.
